CHARLOTTE, NC (June 11, 2012) – Mummies of the World is pleased to announce that the exhibition contributed $6.6 million in tourism economic impact to the city of Charlotte, according to a study conducted recently by Discovery Place in conjunction with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA). The exhibition, which closed April 8, 2012, was also responsible for generating an additional $2.2 million in discretionary spending by local residents that was retained in Mecklenberg County. The presentation in San Antonio will mark the sixth stop of the exhibition’s exclusive three-year city tour of the United States. This astonishing collection of mummies and related artifacts includes a 6,420-year-old child mummy from Peru, dating 3,000 years before King Tut.
